  • Bitcoin traded near $84,000 and Ethereum near $2,470. LIT rose about 15% on compliance-license expectations, leading majors.
  • Meta beat revenue expectations and rose more than 3% after hours; Tesla’s net profit plunged and its shares fell more than 3%.
  • On October 22, focus is on Procter & Gamble, Southern Copper and Union Pacific before the open, followed by Western Digital and Newmont after the close.

1 Crypto Highlights

1)Bitcoin Near $84,000 as AI Earnings Lift Risk Appetite

Bitcoin traded near $84,000, up about 1.6% over 24 hours, while Ethereum was near $2,470. SpaceX and Super Micro earnings beats revived AI-theme trading and supported a rebound in risk assets. Inflation and rate-hike expectations had weighed on prices earlier. Markets are now watching whether bitcoin can hold $84,000 and test higher resistance. The rebound in majors remains sensitive to long-bond yields and oil-price swings.

2)Lighter Plans to Apply for a Compliance License; LIT Rises About 15% and Leads Majors

Lighter plans to become the first perpetual-DEX project to apply for a local compliance license. LIT rose about 15% over 24 hours and traded near $3.8–$3.9, leading majors. News that Robinhood had launched perpetual contracts through Bitstamp previously triggered a sell-off in LIT. Compliance expectations have drawn capital back, but licensing progress and the competitive landscape remain key.

3)ZEC Rises More Than 5%; Bankless Co-Founder Turns Bullish Again

Zcash (ZEC) rose more than 5% over 24 hours and traded near $1,320. Bankless co-founder David Hoffman posted bullish again, predicting ZEC’s market cap could reach 10% of bitcoin’s this cycle and 25% in the next cycle. Privacy narratives and network-upgrade expectations are converging, though those market-cap targets depend heavily on sustained inflows and short-term volatility may increase.

4)WEEX Adds Axis Robotics (AXIS)

Axis Robotics is a decentralized robot-data collection and training platform. It lets participants remotely control virtual robots through a browser, collect high-quality movement data and use simulation augmentation to generate diverse training samples for robot-operation models. Following WEEX’s listing, markets are watching the platform’s data flywheel and progress in deploying its robotics models.

5)OCC Issues Final GENIUS Act Rule; Stablecoin Rewards Shift to Case-by-Case Review

The OCC’s final rule, released on October 21, removes the “rebuttable presumption” for third-party stablecoin reward arrangements and shifts to case-by-case review. This affects a key concern weighing on ENA: Ethena’s yield-bearing stablecoin USDe is not backed by fiat or Treasury reserves, but generates yield through a delta-neutral derivatives strategy. Whether it falls within the legal definition of a “payment stablecoin” remains unclear, as does the applicability of the Act’s yield prohibition. Ethena (ENA) rose more than 8% over 24 hours and traded near $0.21.
