Collaboration for Institutional Tokenization

Pacific Meta, which focuses on business development centered around blockchain and AI, announced on the 16th that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Chainlink Labs, one of the major development companies of the leading oracle Chainlink. They have prioritized the adoption of the interoperability protocol "CCIP," which connects different blockchains, as their interoperability solution.

As part of the partnership, Pacific Meta has included Chainlink's "Automated Compliance Engine (ACE)" in its overseas blockchain product implementation support service "Partner Solutions." This will enable Japanese financial institutions and companies to utilize ACE's compliance features when deploying tokenized assets for institutional investors.

Oracles refer to the mechanisms that deliver external data, such as prices and interest rates, to smart contracts. CCIP is a cross-chain infrastructure provided by Chainlink that facilitates the movement of assets and data across multiple blockchains.

Expanding Areas from 2023 Partnership

The two companies had previously announced a strategic partnership in June 2023, focusing on the domestic adoption of the random number generation feature "VRF" for gaming and the expansion of the development support program "BUILD." This time, the focus has shifted to tokenized finance for institutional investors, collaborating not only on market development and business development but also on the establishment of on-chain ID and compliance infrastructure.

Regarding the choice of CCIP, Pacific Meta explained that it was evaluated from the perspectives of decentralization, safety mechanisms, and control by issuers. According to their announcement, all sending and receiving routes (lanes) in CCIP are verified by 16 independent node operators by default.

No Specific Implementation Cases Provided

Andy Hung, who oversees alliances at Pacific Meta, stated that Japanese financial institutions are rapidly transitioning to tokenized finance, emphasizing the necessity of a "reliable infrastructure" to meet regulatory demands. Niki Ariyasinghe, Vice President of Sales for APAC and the Middle East at Chainlink Labs, positioned the partnership as a means to expand the adoption of on-chain finance in Japan and surrounding regions.

Pacific Meta plans to partner with leading Japanese companies in telecommunications, home appliances, and digital advertising to adapt Chainlink's infrastructure to the domestic regulatory environment and business practices. However, this announcement did not provide specific implementation cases or transaction scales from domestic financial institutions and companies.
