Russian Strikes Destroy Over 200 Gas Stations in Ukraine
As a result of Russian attacks in Ukraine, more than 200 gas stations have been destroyed, including at least 80 in the Kharkiv region. Strikes on fuel infrastructure complicate logistics and may increase transportation costs for goods. Kharkiv regional council member Alexander Skorik reported over 200 destroyed gas stations, although the exact timeframe of the losses has not been specified. Russia has intensified attacks on gas stations in the Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions. In the Zaporizhzhia region, more than 30 gas stations have been destroyed, according to the head of the regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov. In the Poltava region, four gas stations along the road to Kharkiv were attacked within a few hours. Local authorities have not reported the total number of damaged facilities. The highway between Kharkiv and Kyiv, part of the international route E40, is an important logistics corridor. The reduction in available gas stations may complicate civilian transportation and the delivery of goods. Motorists are urged to plan their refueling in advance. In several regions, gas stations suspend operations during air alerts or reduce their hours of operation. Some facilities are protected by concrete blocks and nets against drones. The head of the Poltava regional administration, Vitaliy Dyakovich, noted that the attacks create additional problems for businesses, complicating logistics and delivery, which may affect the prices of goods and services. Gas station networks in Ukraine are introducing limits on the supply of diesel fuel to individual customers.
