IPS Discounts: All the Tourist Benefits for Retirees and Pensioners
The Social Security Institute (IPS) of the province of Buenos Aires maintains a series of agreements with municipalities and tourist complexes that offer exclusive discounts for those receiving a retirement or pension through the organization.
The proposal aims to encourage getaways within the Buenos Aires territory with promotions that include thermal parks, hotels, and natural attractions. In some cases, discounts reach 45% off the entrance fee, although conditions vary depending on the destination and the time of year.
Thermal baths, hotels, and recreational spaces are part of the proposal aimed at Buenos Aires retirees and pensioners.
While the benefits are currently available, it is advisable to check availability in advance and make the necessary reservations, as some establishments apply specific conditions or promotions depending on the season.
Dolores
One of the most notable benefits is found at the Dolores Thermal Park, where retirees and pensioners from the IPS, along with their cohabiting family members, can access a 30% discount on the entrance fee.
The complex is located on Autovía 2 and Provincial Route 63 and is characterized by combining fresh and saltwater, a rare feature in such establishments. Additionally, it has indoor and outdoor pools, spacious green areas, relaxation areas, and dining services, making it a popular choice for a weekend getaway.
To access the benefit, it is necessary to prove the status of IPS beneficiary and make the inquiry or reservation through the channels enabled by the Dolores Tourism Secretariat.
Monte Hermoso
Monte Hermoso offers several promotions for those receiving benefits from the IPS. The main one consists of a 40% discount for entry to Laguna Sauce Grande, one of the most visited natural spaces in the district. To obtain the discount, it is mandatory to prove the status of retiree or pensioner at the time of making the reservation.
Additionally, the agreement includes benefits in participating accommodations. Hotel Faro Recalada and Hotel Aires de Mar offer 15% discount on weekends and 20% from Monday to Friday during the period from March to November. Meanwhile, Hostería Altea applies a 20% discount on the same dates.
The agreement also includes promotions for recreational, cultural, gastronomic activities, and other tourist services developed within the municipality, as long as the providers are part of the program promoted together with the IPS.
Tapalqué
The Termas Tapalqué complex was recently added to the IPS tourist benefits list and offers one of the most convenient promotions for affiliates.
Retirees already have a 25% discount on the general entrance fee. This benefit is complemented by an additional exclusive discount for IPS members: 20% extra from Monday to Friday, reaching a total of 45%, and 10% additional during weekends and holidays, with a final discount of 35%.
The thermal park, inaugurated in 2023, is part of the provincial program "Termas Buenos Aires" and combines thermal water pools with extensive recreational and natural spaces. To access the promotion, it is necessary to make a reservation through the official website of the complex or through the enabled telephone channels.
Tornquist
Another available option is in the Tornquist party. There, IPS beneficiaries receive a 15% discount on the rate of the Provincial Hotel Sierra de la Ventana Casino, Resort, and Spa, one of the most recognized establishments in the mountainous region.
The Sierra de la Ventana area is known for its mountainous landscapes, trails, outdoor activities, and proposals for those seeking a few days of tranquility away from the big cities. The agreement between the social security organization and the hotel aims to bring this type of experience closer to Buenos Aires retirees and pensioners with a more accessible rate.
