Google Adds 'goto' Redirect Parameter to Search Result Links

By: www.ithome.com|2026/08/27 07:56:41

Google is promoting the 'goto' redirect parameter in search result links, where users clicking on a link will go through an intermediary address with the google.com/goto parameter, rather than directly pointing to the target webpage. This mechanism increases the difficulty for automated tools to parse and scrape search results through server-side redirection, in response to scraping activities by third-party tools and AI companies. SEO monitoring platform Nozzle's data shows that this change has nearly 100% coverage in multiple residential IP service provider environments.
