NBU Extends Payment Terms for Agricultural Exports to 150 Days

The National Bank of Ukraine has increased the maximum payment terms for agricultural export operations from 120 to 150 days. The new rules will apply to transactions carried out from July 1, 2026, to August 31, 2027. The extended period pertains to the export of grain crops, oilseed seeds, vegetable oils, and by-products of their processing. The decision was made considering the proposals from the government and consultations between the NBU and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food. The NBU explained the need for the extension due to the complications in maritime logistics caused by intensified Russian attacks on port infrastructure in July 2026. This has led to increased transportation times for agricultural goods via alternative routes. The NBU expects that this change will help support Ukrainian exporters and reduce the risks of violating currency legislation. At the same time, the extension of terms will not create additional risks for macro-financial stability. The changes were approved by the NBU Board resolution dated August 25, 2026, No. 97.
