Florida Man Uses Video Game Malware to Steal $220,000 in Cryptocurrency

Federal agents arrested 21-year-old Zyaire Wilkins from North Lauderdale, Florida, accusing him of hiding malware that steals cryptocurrency within online video games. Between May 2024 and February 2026, approximately 8,000 devices were compromised, with around 80 cryptocurrency wallets hacked, resulting in at least $220,000 stolen. Wilkins is charged with conspiracy to obtain information from computers for personal gain, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
