ChatGPT Business Seats Reorganized into Standard and Codex Seats

OpenAI has divided the seats for ChatGPT Business into Standard seats and Codex seats. Standard seats are offered at $25 per month (approximately 35,250 KRW) or $20 per month when billed annually (approximately 28,200 KRW), with a minimum purchase of two required. Codex seats have no fixed fee but require the purchase of workspace credits. In new business workspaces, Codex seats cannot be added as the first seat, and a minimum of two Standard seats must be maintained. OpenAI announced the introduction of Codex seats on April 2, reducing the price of Standard seats by $5 per month (approximately 7,050 KRW). This reorganization focuses on separating the billing method instead of adding high-cost seats. Companies must manage the number of seats and credit usage, and costs may vary based on ChatGPT and coding workload. OpenAI provides features such as centralized billing, usage analytics, and spending controls in its business pricing plan, stating that work data will not be used for model training. User complaints have also been raised, with feedback indicating that adjusting the number of seats on the billing page is not possible. The billing method will change starting August 19, with immediate charges applied for additional paid seat registrations.
