On August 12, market research firm Counterpoint Research reported that by the second quarter of 2026, enterprise SSDs (eSSDs) will account for 48% of global NAND shipments, nearly double the 26% share from the same period last year. The growing demand from servers has tightened the supply of consumer-grade NAND, driving industry revenue to record levels, with an approximate fivefold increase compared to the second quarter of 2025. Samsung ranked first with a 25% market share, followed by SK Hynix at 22%. Yangtze Memory Technologies' market share rose to 14%, marking its first entry into the global top three, with a year-on-year shipment increase of 22% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 5%. In terms of revenue, Yangtze Memory Technologies remains fifth, primarily due to its product structure being focused on consumer applications, with a low proportion of high-priced data center eSSDs. The company plans to further increase the proportion of eSSD products in the second half of the year. The report predicts that by the end of 2026, server eSSDs will absorb more than half of the global NAND bit shipments, and future competition among suppliers will increasingly depend on high-value product portfolios.
