The Block reporter Gareth Jenkinson posted on X platform that reliable sources revealed that European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde directly ordered Greece to reject Binance's MiCA license application. The news states that Binance had previously almost obtained approval from Greek regulators, but was obstructed after the European Central Bank intervened. Jenkinson indicated that if the European Central Bank ultimately controls such decisions, it would not be good news for the crypto industry.
In addition, according to Cryptopolitan, Binance is now turning to France as the only remaining avenue to obtain MiCA authorization, but has not yet formally submitted an application.
