South Korea's Financial Services Commission will attend a parliamentary policy questioning session today as the National Assembly begins work on a basic law for digital assets. Legislative discussions on stablecoins are a focal point as the government and ruling Democratic Party review a proposal for next month. The National Assembly's plenary meeting of the National Policy Committee is scheduled for 5:00 a.m. UTC today in Yeouido, Seoul, with FSC Chairman Lee Eog-weon expected to attend. A National Assembly official indicated that the bill aims for introduction before the parliamentary audit and passage during the regular September session, though significant differences within the ruling party and issues related to single-stock leveraged exchange-traded funds may complicate the process.
