Poll Indicates Decline in Support for Trump, Challenges for Cryptocurrencies
Support for U.S. President Donald Trump has dropped to 33% according to a new poll for the Washington Post, which could impact the outcomes of the Congressional elections. 58% of registered voters prefer the Democratic Party, while only 39% favor Republicans. 28% of Americans support Trump's economic policies, down from 41% in February. 48% of respondents believe their financial situation has worsened since the beginning of Trump's second term. Rising oil prices and inflation are affecting voter sentiment, with 71% considering gas prices to be high. 66% fear that Trump is using his office for personal enrichment. For the first time since 2014, voters believe that Democrats have better ideas for the economy (40% to 33%). A Democratic victory in the elections could mean difficulties in regulating the cryptocurrency market, as their version of the bill may be more stringent than the CLARTY Act proposed by Republicans.
