KakaoPay is preparing to issue a Korean won stablecoin and expand its global ecosystem. According to a recruitment announcement released on the 12th, KakaoPay aims to make the issuance of the Korean won stablecoin and the construction of a global ecosystem a core pillar of next-generation financial infrastructure. The company plans to collaborate with major domestic partners in South Korea, global enterprises, overseas payment/remittance networks, and blockchain infrastructure partners. To this end, KakaoPay is hiring product managers related to stablecoins and wallet products, responsible for formulating policies and planning roadmaps for new products and services related to stablecoins and blockchain. Additionally, they are seeking server development engineers responsible for the issuance and circulation of stablecoins. Previously, during the second quarter earnings call on August 4, KakaoPay stated that it is designing and validating the stablecoin business from both issuance and circulation perspectives.
