A Hyperliquid user lost approximately 550,000 USD in USDC after falling victim to a phishing campaign through a sponsored ad on Google. The attack was reported by Darcy, co-founder of FlashRescue, who identified three transfers from the victim's wallet to the attacker's addresses. The funds were moved to other wallets, complicating their recovery. The user accessed the fraudulent site after searching for information related to Hyperliquid. This case highlights the use of search engine ads to promote fake pages, where attackers purchase advertising space with terms from recognized platforms. Security Alliance (SEAL) blocked 356 URLs associated with malicious ads over several weeks, some mimicking Hyperliquid. Although the advertisers' accounts were suspended, fraudulent campaigns continue to appear. It is recommended to avoid sponsored ads and access official sites through manually typed addresses or saved bookmarks, as well as to carefully verify the domain before connecting a wallet.
