The Bank of Russia will conduct an examination of cryptocurrency investments from April to October 2026 to assess how much regulated organizations have invested in digital assets and how actively they have lent to crypto companies in the second and third quarters. The inspection will focus on the operations of organizations under the regulator's supervision, including the use of cryptocurrencies for hedging risks. Lending to crypto companies will also be evaluated. Data must be submitted by the following deadlines: for the second quarter — by July 20, for the third quarter — by October 20. This will allow the Central Bank to gain an overall picture of investments and operations with digital assets. Additionally, the Bank of Russia will conduct a survey of individuals who made cross-border money transfers in the first half of 2026. The data from the survey must be provided within 40 days after its completion, which will help the regulator better understand customer behavior in international transfers.
