IMX price prediction searches look very different today than they did during the last Web3 gaming boom.

IMX is currently trading around the $0.10–$0.13 area, far below its $9.50 all-time high. That makes any new IMX price prediction less about returning to old highs and more about whether the token can build a believable recovery from current levels. Recent market data also shows how weak the gaming-token sector has become overall, with Immutable's market value now only a fraction of its previous peak.

Immutable X was merged into Immutable Chain in early 2026, removing the split between its older StarkEx-based network and its newer gaming chain. The regulatory picture has also changed: the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission closed its investigation into Immutable without taking enforcement action.

Those are meaningful developments. But neither automatically sends IMX higher. For investors looking at an IMX price prediction for 2026 and 2027, the bigger question is whether a simpler blockchain structure and lower regulatory uncertainty can finally translate into more games, more users and more demand for IMX.

    Where Is IMX Price Now?

IMX has spent much of August trading close to the $0.10 level. Historical market data shows IMX closing around $0.106 on August 17 before falling to roughly $0.100 on August 18. On August 20, the token closed near $0.109 after briefly reaching about $0.112 during the day.

More recent market data has placed IMX around $0.128, although crypto prices can change quickly and figures vary slightly between exchanges.

The bigger picture remains difficult. IMX once traded at an all-time high near $9.50. At roughly $0.10–$0.13 today, the token has lost almost all of that peak value.

The weakness is not only an Immutable problem. Web3 gaming tokens have gone through a much wider reset. Recent August market data estimated the entire GameFi sector at only around $3 billion, with no gaming token holding a market capitalization above $250 million.

Immutable remains one of the larger names in that smaller market, but being a major gaming blockchain has not protected IMX from the decline.

There is one important supply change to remember. All 2 billion IMX tokens are now unlocked and in circulation. That means future scheduled token unlocks should no longer create the same type of new supply pressure that investors had to consider in earlier IMX forecasts.

For 2026, the starting point is therefore clear: IMX is cheap compared with its history, but it still needs a reason for buyers to return.

What Does the Immutable Chain Merger Actually Change?

The chain merger matters more for the technology than for the price in the short term. Immutable originally operated Immutable X, its StarkEx-based Layer 2 network. The company later introduced Immutable zkEVM, offering an EVM-compatible environment designed to give game developers more flexibility.

Running different blockchain environments created a problem. Developers, users and assets could be divided across separate systems. Liquidity could become fragmented, and the Immutable brand had to support more than one blockchain experience.

That changed in early 2026. Immutable X was merged into Immutable Chain. According to Immutable's official documentation, the Immutable X bridge was combined with the main Immutable Chain bridge through a non-custodial upgrade. ETH, IMX and other ERC-20 assets held on Immutable X were migrated to Immutable Chain and remained available through the same wallets.

Immutable X is now deprecated and no longer processes new write transactions. For developers, this creates a clearer destination. Instead of asking which Immutable network a new game should use, the ecosystem can increasingly develop around one primary chain.

For IMX, however, the merger should not be treated as an instant price catalyst. A simpler chain can improve the ecosystem. It does not automatically create token demand.

The real test comes next: do more developers launch games, and do those games attract players who generate meaningful on-chain activity?

If the answer is yes, the merger could become an important part of the long-term IMX recovery story. If activity remains weak, consolidation alone will not be enough.

What Does the SEC Clearance Mean for IMX?

The regulatory change is easier to understand. Immutable received a Wells notice from the SEC in 2024. A Wells notice does not mean a company has been found guilty of wrongdoing, but it signals that SEC staff may recommend enforcement action.

That created uncertainty around Immutable and the IMX token. In March 2025, that risk changed significantly. The SEC closed its investigation without taking enforcement action against Immutable, the IMX Ecosystem Foundation or CEO James Ferguson.

The immediate market reaction was positive. IMX gained roughly 7.5%, while trading volume jumped following the news.

But there is an important difference between removing a risk and creating a new growth engine.

The end of the SEC investigation removed a major question hanging over Immutable. It did not suddenly create millions of new gamers or increase blockchain revenue.

That distinction matters for an IMX price prediction. Regulatory clarity can make it easier for developers, partners and investors to think about Immutable without the same enforcement risk. Over time, that can support confidence in the ecosystem.

Price growth, however, still needs adoption. The SEC decision removed one reason to avoid IMX. It did not create a reason for everyone to buy it.

IMX Price Prediction for the Rest of 2026

At current levels, IMX does not need to return anywhere close to its previous highs to produce a significant percentage recovery.

That makes 2026 particularly difficult to forecast. In a base case, IMX could trade between $0.12 and $0.25 through the remainder of 2026. This assumes the broader crypto market remains reasonably stable and Immutable continues adding gaming activity without a major breakout title.

A stronger recovery could push IMX toward $0.30–$0.45.

For that to happen, the market would probably need more than positive announcements. Investors would need evidence that the unified Immutable Chain is gaining real users and transaction activity.

The downside case remains important. If the GameFi sector continues shrinking or the wider altcoin market weakens, IMX could return toward $0.08–$0.10. Trading below $0.10 would place even more pressure on a token that is already far below its previous cycle highs.

This makes $1 an aggressive target for 2026. From around $0.10–$0.13, reaching $1 would require IMX to rise roughly eight to ten times. Crypto markets can produce moves of that size, but there is currently not enough evidence to make $1 a reasonable base-case forecast for this year.

A move back above $0.20 would be a much more meaningful first test.

    IMX Price Prediction for 2027

The 2027 outlook is more interesting because Immutable will have had more time to prove whether its chain consolidation worked.

By then, investors should have better answers to several important questions.

Are games launching on Immutable Chain attracting real players? Are users staying after launch? Is transaction activity growing? Are developers continuing to choose Immutable over competing gaming chains?

If the answers are mostly positive, IMX could begin rebuilding a larger valuation. A reasonable base-case range for 2027 could be around $0.20–$0.50.

In a stronger bull case, IMX could move toward $0.60–$1.00. That scenario would likely require a wider recovery in gaming tokens combined with successful game launches and much stronger activity across Immutable Chain. A move above $1 would probably need something more.

Immutable would need to show that Web3 gaming itself is entering a new growth cycle, rather than simply recovering from extremely weak levels.

The bearish scenario would keep IMX closer to $0.08–$0.20. This could happen if blockchain gaming remains a niche sector or if Immutable's large pipeline of games fails to produce lasting player activity.

The key difference between 2026 and 2027 is evidence. In 2026, investors are largely watching the new structure take shape. By 2027, they should be able to judge whether that structure actually worked.

Can the Chain Merger and SEC Clearance Bring IMX Back to $1?

The chain merger solves a practical problem. Immutable no longer needs to build its future around two separate blockchain environments. Developers and users can increasingly move toward one primary Immutable Chain.

The SEC investigation closure solves a different problem. It removes an important regulatory uncertainty that had been hanging over the project. Neither solves the biggest problem facing IMX today. Demand.

A token ultimately needs an active ecosystem around it. For Immutable, that means games people actually want to play. The company already has a large development pipeline, but the next stage is not about announcing another hundred games. It is about turning some of those games into products with lasting audiences.

This is why $1 remains possible but should not be treated as the default outcome.

From today's price, $1 would represent a very large recovery. To justify it, the market would probably need to see stronger gaming activity, improving crypto sentiment and clearer evidence that IMX benefits economically from growth on Immutable Chain.

You can follow IMX market data alongside other crypto assets through platforms such as WEEX, but short-term price moves should be separated from the longer-term adoption story.

The merger gives Immutable a cleaner structure. The SEC decision removes a major legal cloud. Now the games have to deliver.

What Could Push IMX Above or Below These Forecasts?

The biggest positive catalyst would be a breakout game.

Web3 gaming infrastructure is difficult to value because developer numbers alone do not tell you how many people will actually play. One successful title with a large and active audience could change market expectations around Immutable much faster than dozens of smaller launches.

A broader GameFi recovery would also help. Gaming tokens are currently operating in a much weaker market than during the previous cycle. If capital returns to the sector, established names such as IMX could benefit simply because investors already recognize them.

Ethereum and the wider altcoin market also matter. IMX is unlikely to trade completely independently from broader crypto sentiment.

On the negative side, weak user growth remains the main risk. Immutable can provide good infrastructure, but it cannot guarantee that players will care about the games built on it. Traditional gaming is already highly competitive, and adding blockchain does not automatically make a game better.

Competition between chains is another factor. Developers now have several networks offering low-cost transactions, gaming tools and EVM compatibility.

The technical battle may therefore be less important than the user battle. Immutable does not only need developers. It needs players.

    Conclusion

The IMX price prediction for 2026–2027 has improved in one important way: two major uncertainties are now largely behind the project.

Immutable X has been consolidated into Immutable Chain, giving developers and users a clearer blockchain environment. The SEC investigation has also ended without enforcement action, removing a regulatory issue that once created additional risk around Immutable and IMX.

But those changes should not be confused with immediate token demand.

At around $0.10–$0.13, IMX is trading at a small fraction of its previous peak. That creates room for a large percentage recovery, but it also shows how much confidence the token has lost since the last gaming cycle.

For the rest of 2026, a $0.12–$0.25 base-case range looks more reasonable than predictions calling for an immediate return to $1. By 2027, a stronger gaming recovery could put $0.20–$0.50 in focus, while a bullish scenario could bring $0.60–$1.00 back into the conversation.

The chain merger makes Immutable simpler. The SEC clearance makes the regulatory picture cleaner. Whether IMX actually recovers will depend on something much harder to engineer: getting people to play the games.

    FAQ

    1. What is the IMX price prediction for 2026?

A reasonable base-case range for the rest of 2026 is around $0.12–$0.25. A stronger crypto and GameFi recovery could push IMX toward $0.30–$0.45, while continued weakness could send the token back toward $0.08–$0.10.

    2. Can IMX reach $1 in 2026?

It is possible, but $1 looks aggressive from current prices around $0.10–$0.13. IMX would need a very large percentage gain, likely supported by a broader altcoin rally, stronger Immutable Chain activity and renewed interest in Web3 gaming.

    3. What is the IMX price prediction for 2027?

Our base-case range for 2027 is approximately $0.20–$0.50. In a bullish scenario with successful game launches and stronger GameFi demand, IMX could move toward $0.60–$1.00.

    4. Did the SEC clear Immutable and IMX?

The SEC closed its investigation into Immutable in March 2025 without taking enforcement action against Immutable, the IMX Ecosystem Foundation or CEO James Ferguson. This removed an important regulatory uncertainty, although it should not be interpreted as a guarantee about IMX's future regulatory treatment.

    5. What happened to Immutable X?

Immutable X was merged into Immutable Chain in early 2026. Assets such as ETH and IMX were migrated through a non-custodial bridge upgrade, while the older Immutable X network is now deprecated and no longer processes new write transactions. The goal is to consolidate activity around a single primary Immutable gaming chain.
